After looking into the web for new figures out of the Knightworld, I found some Archer can be placed under the glass of my medieval Madness and make the same LED Mod at the arrowhead as weeks ago.
Some cutting, some drilling and wires
making a 5mm LED look like a arrowhead
replaced the arrowhead
drilling for a hole through the plastics, wires, glue.
Today I got a replacement for the ringmaster. So its a good time to make the ringmaster look more realistic. So as I a great friend of LEDs I set up two 5mm blue leds behind the eyes.
I can take care of the modification for you in two ways.
a) You can sent me your ringmaster and I will add the two Leds for you
b) You can order a complete new ringmaster including this modifcation
Video:
Here you see some pictures how I done this mod.
First I removed some of the PCV holding the eye to get a closer look.
After some modifing a standard 5mm blue LED
Some shrinking tube to get the light only where it belongs
First testing with one led insite
both eyes light up
In the darkness
Now its time to remove the original ringmaster and have a deeper look to the Flasher.
I have to remove some part of the shrinking tube to solder the wires for the blue leds
I put some connector between, to make it easy to assemble/de assemble
I uses 330 Ohm for each blue 5mm LED and wired it this way
a) blue Color replaced by yellow. So it fitts better to the medieval Theme.
b) a flasher effect of the ball in red
Step a):
I done some modifications on the Merlin Mod. As blue is not my favorite color, I decided to make yellow for the Merlins Magic Insert instead of blue. This color fitts better to the MM theme.
Therefore I need more Leds. I found some SMD-RGB Leds and put them on the 5mm LED as you see in the following pictures.
So I have to add 8 wires to the „combo LED“.
Step 2:
I wanted to integrate a flasher effect. So I added a 3rd SMD-Led for this, because of the different Voltage Supplys in the pinball. The Led is connceted parallel to the right down flasher.
And all 8 wires must go through the little arm of the Merlin:
Its very small and you need a lot of soldering experience…
In the last state I was in search for the needed molex connectors and found them.
So its possible to make these Mod complete solderless. You have only to connect the Merlin in beetween Magic Hole Insert and the flasher right down.
Here you can see howto add the wires to the playfield:
