Rebirth of the Dragon „Light him up“

Donnerstag, Februar 17th, 2011

First I take the prepared doubleheaded Dragon look here

http://wolfsoft.de/wordpress/?p=1112

After this I am using 5 Leds to make up the eyes to live and one mouth give us fire for a breath…

I used a 2,5mm drill to make the holes through the eyes and with the help of some inelastic copper wire it was easier to get the flexible copper wires through the holes.

5mm power led in red for the mouth

As the necks are bended I need to make more holes to get from the head to the chest

If you look from the normal pinball view to the Dragon you will not see the wires :-)

doublehead_dragon_04

I have to position the tail like this, so the ball will „ride“ over the ramp without trouble

The left wing was a little to high and there was a problem with the glass but no problem with the help of a heat-gun. So the wing is fitting under the playfield.

Today I got a transparent Plexi for the mouth.
Its a first beta try, have some other idea in mind and I will show it later…

Today I got the 3D plastic. It is scratched with firelines so it looks more real and the plastic transports the light of the led better as standard plastics.

Thanks to my wife to put two plastics together to make it more 3D

I done some more pictures and finaly got the wires through the neck. So you will see NO WIRES outsite of the dragon anymore!

Left Ramp Troll LED Mod for Medieval Madness

Dienstag, Januar 11th, 2011

I found a nice Troll, fits into the MM Theme and put it on the left ramp.
With the help of some plastic it can connected to the left ramp.
The eyes where replaced with yellow/orange 3mm Leds for the Eye glow mod.

If you want a Troll including this eye led mod you can order it here:

http://www.wolfsoft.de/shop/product_info.php/products_id/14870

or sent me an email to klaus@wolfsoft.de and I will take care of you order. Please sent me your complete adress for checking the shipping costs.

I done the two holes first with a 1,5mm drill, then with a 2,5mm.
After this I drill a hole from the back to the eyes the holes are like a Y.

„Simba“ LED Mod for Cirqus Voltaire Pinball

Dienstag, Januar 11th, 2011

I found Panther called simba for placing it in a Cirqus Voltaire Pinball. As there is one displayed on the playfield it fits to the main theme.

If you want a Simba including this eye led mod you can order it here:

http://www.wolfsoft.de/shop/product_info.php/products_id/14872

or sent me an email to klaus@wolfsoft.de and I will take care of you order. Please sent me your complete adress for checking the shipping costs.
Here you can see how I add the green LEDs to the eyes.
I used a 2,5mm Drill and 3mm LEDs in green for the eye replacement. The installation is done solderless with the „croco“ connectors to the 28 bear playfield flasher with two 680 Ohm Resistors.

Drill 2,5 extra long into the

to get the cables out of the panther use a drill from downsite 8-9mm in diameter:

New Custom Knightset for Medieval Madness wip

Donnerstag, Dezember 30th, 2010

For MM I found only one custom Knightset with 4 knights.
I don’t like the faces covered with complete helmet, so I am in search for some other.

I found a King that looks similar to the king of the backglass. Next I will try the same in red…

Rebirth of the Dragon -WIP-

Mittwoch, Dezember 29th, 2010

Some weeks ago I saw a great dragon with two heads and my first thought it can work in MM…

Its time for ashes of the Dragon, now with two heads ;-)

After some drilling and cutting I the hole is big enough to put it over the lamp of the original dragon.

Ringmaster Blue Eye Led Mod for Cirqus Voltaire

Dienstag, November 30th, 2010

Today I got a replacement for the ringmaster. So its a good time to make the ringmaster look more realistic. So as I a great friend of LEDs I set up two 5mm blue leds behind the eyes.

cc_ringmaster_10

I can take care of the modification for you in two ways.

a) You can sent me your ringmaster and I will add the two Leds for you
b) You can order a complete new ringmaster including this modifcation

Video:

Here you see some pictures how I done this mod.

First I removed some of the PCV holding the eye to get a closer look.

cc_ringmaster_01

After some modifing a standard 5mm blue LED

cc_ringmaster_02

Some shrinking tube to get the light only where it belongs

cc_ringmaster_03

First testing with one led insite

cc_ringmaster_04

both eyes light up

cc_ringmaster_05

In the darkness

cc_ringmaster_06

Now its time to remove the original ringmaster and have a deeper look to the Flasher.
I have to remove some part of the shrinking tube to solder the wires for the blue leds

cc_ringmaster_07

I put some connector between, to make it easy to assemble/de assemble

cc_ringmaster_08

I uses 330 Ohm for each blue 5mm LED and wired it this way

red wire from the Pinball is plus

blue wire is GND

Medieval Madness Archer Mod standard

Freitag, November 19th, 2010

After making the magic Merlin Mod, I have more ideas in my mind to realise with my beauty mm.

So here is the standard Archer Mod for it.

For the new archer is a new plastic needed cutted with a laser…

The plastic need a little modification for the arrowhead but no problem

Making of Merlin Deluxe Mod

Donnerstag, Oktober 21st, 2010

I wasn’t happy with the Merlin standard Mod and I have some ideas in my mind.

merlin_yellow_hell_small

So the deluxe Edition was born…

If you want some you can buy it at wolfsoft.de

Or look here for the attack from the merlins – a funny – link

Installation Manual

The deluxe  have to more features:

a) blue Color replaced by yellow. So it fitts better to the medieval Theme.

b) a flasher effect of the ball in red

Step a):

I done some modifications on the Merlin Mod.  As blue is not my favorite color, I decided to make yellow for the Merlins Magic Insert instead of blue.  This color fitts better to the MM theme.

Therefore I need more Leds. I found some SMD-RGB Leds and put them on the 5mm LED as you see in the following pictures.

merlin_deluxe_rgb_wires_soldering

So I have to add 8 wires to the „combo LED“.

Step 2:

I wanted to integrate a flasher effect. So I added a 3rd SMD-Led for this, because of the different Voltage Supplys in the pinball. The Led is connceted parallel to the right down flasher.

And all 8 wires must go through the little arm of the Merlin:

merlin_arm_8wires

Its very small and you need a lot of soldering experience…

In the last state I was in search for the needed molex connectors and found them.

So its possible to make these Mod complete solderless. You have only to connect the Merlin in beetween Magic Hole Insert and the flasher right down.

deluxe_with_complete_wires

Here you can see howto add the wires to the playfield:

connect the „combo“ to the Insert PCB

Making of Magic standard Merlin Mod

Montag, September 13th, 2010

Hi Folks,

last week I tried to illuminate a Merlin with a blue Led.

If you want a Merlin including this magic RGB-LED you can order it right here

This works good, but I have a better idea in mind. Put a RGB-Led into the Magic Ball.

The hardest part was to get the hole into the glass. A lot of Balls was destroyed during the making…

1

I am using a powerfull 5mm RGB-Led and reduce the size so it fits into the glas ball:

2

Now Its time to make place for the wires into the merlin

3

4

And here some wiring:

In the final Version we will use shrinking tube and Molex Connectors so you have only to connect it in between to molex parts.

Look here for the molex Version, no soldering, only some doublesided adhesive needed
